Idyll Construction's origins are in custom home building. Mark Raudenbush, the founder, started in the construction industry in the 80s working as a laborer and then carpenter for a Gentlemen Builder in North Florida. We only built a couple of homes per year but each and every one was fully custom from the ground up. In 1997 When we started Idyll Construction it was modeled after that same gentleman builder concept that Mark had watched be so successful in his youth. Along the way, sometimes we go away from that. In the 2000’s we were running multiple crews and doing a large number of jobs at once. But it was always important to stay close to the project close to the customer and make sure that we didn’t lose sight of our origins.

Over the years custom building has become more and more complex. Plan sets that years ago might have been four or five pages are now volumes. Building systems have become more complex as well. Fortunately, because of our continuous involvement in the industry, we are constantly evolving our products and systems to stay ahead of the industry changes.

Twenty-five years of consistent involvement in the industry means there isn’t much we haven’t seen, done, or witnessed. From changes in foundation systems to energy efficiency, and complex electrical systems to home automation. We’ve seen it, done it, and learned from it.

All of those years have also given us the opportunity to develop strategic relationships with hundreds of trade professionals. Be that Architects and Engineers or subcontractors and trade professionals. If they’ve been around any significant length of time here in Southwest Florida, we’ve probably met them, probably worked with them. We’ve built relationships with most of the best of them.

There is no one architectural style that we prefer. We’ve built them all, from Old Florida to Coastal Contemporary to Modern, Tuscan Spanish yeah that too. After all, it’s your home; it’s simply our duty to get you what you want.
